About me

Hi! If you’ve landed on this site, I’d love to tell you more about my adventures so far. Living on the border that straddles Lancashire and Yorkshire, I hail from the little town of Earby.

A passionate writer, I’ve always loved pens and the power (forgive the cliché) that they afford the writer.

Since the age of 6 or 7, I’ve been writing. First winning a competition to write a book about a donkey. Don’t think it was a best seller! But maybe one day it will be discovered.

Since learning how each word can influence people in so many ways, I’ve been compelled to write. The beauty of the English Language can bring elation and devastation on one page and this motivates me to write.

Along the way, I’ve won the Delicious Food Writing Competition, won the Rotary Young Writer’s competition and even interviewed Boris Johnson! A ready mix of bathos!

Sport, lifestyle and food are all topics that propel me to reach for my pencil case or delve into my pen drawer (yes, I have a whole drawer devoted to pens and pencils) and write. Catharsis or a sheer unadulterated self-indulgence. I’m not sure – but it stirs the soul.

Therefore, I hope you’ll enjoy my contributions and not judge me too harshly. As I embark on a degree to study English Literature, I’m allowing myself the opportunity to continue my writing skills as a budding journalist.
